Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus
On the way home...
J: Kiley's not my girlfriend anymore
M: Oh
J: Brank is
M: Brank?
J: Yeah, Brank!
M: Whose class is he in?
J: Hers
M: How does that make you feel?
J: Sad. But Thomas was really sad
M: Why was Thomas sad?
J: Because she was his girlfriend too
M: Oh...What did she say?
J: She didn't say anything.
M: How do you know your not her boyfriend?
J: Heather told me
M: Heather?
J: Yes
M: You didn't talk to Kiley?
J: No she won't speak to us
Later on that evening...
J: Dad, Kiley's not my girlfriend anymore.
T: Huh!

THE four letter word
Over the last several months, Jayden has been talking about a girl named Kiley. Kiley isn't in his class but takes a nap in his room and he can't stop talking about her! "Kiley wore a hat today, just like me". "Kiley can't wait for me to come to her party". Kiley, Kiley, Kiley!
Here's how our conversation went after he got off the phone:
J: looking dumbfounded "She said I love you"
M: playing it totally cool "Oh that was nice, you two are good friends"
J: "No, she said I.love.you"
M: heart rate increasing "Well we say I love you to a lot of people we care about"
J: "No mom, she said she LOVES me"
The next day when I picked him up from school I asked him if he said anything to Kiley; about last night's phone call and he casually said "Yeah, I told her the 'I love you' part was FAN_TAS_TIC!"

New "house" rule...No talking to friends on the phone until we get a little bit older!
The other day Kiley called the house. (Really? He's 5!)
Todd couldn't believe I was taking a picture of the ordeal. But how could I not?
