5...4...3...2...1...blast off!

So four years ago, right about now, I started my labor with Jayden. We went to the hospital and I was SO NERVOUS that I wasn't really in labor and they were going to send me home. Jayden was born at 5:32 am and my life was forever changed. God brought me and Todd such a wonderful boy. He is a loving, sensitive, smart, analytical, unpredictable, careful, beautiful, quick thinker with an AMAZING memory.

Here is the blast off of his rocket ship birthday weekend:

Where's the beef?

After looking back over my last several (13 to be exact) blogs I realized I've been slacking on the pictures! See what happens with preschool drama-Everything goes wacky. And although I haven't kept up with my July record . I have taken a few. Enjoy!

Ry-Ry

Periodically, the early learning coalition sends an Ages & Stages questionnaire that assesses a child's communication, gross motor, fine motor, problem solving, and personal-social skills. It asks a series of questions which I answer yes, sometimes, or not yet to. Both Jayden and Ryland are enrolled and with Jayden I was always amazed how it "knew" what he was doing at a specific age. Now it's interesting to to compare (I know, I know, a No-No) them at their same age. Here are a few examples from Ry's 16 month questionnaire:

1. Does your child point to, pat, or try to pick up pictures in a book?
Yes
2. Does your child say four or more words in addition to "Mama" and "Dada"?
Not yet. Unless you count owww, ya-ya, shaking & nodding his head :-)
3. Does your child climb onto furniture?
Yes, yes, and yes!
4. Does your child walk well and seldom fall?
Yes
5. Does your child throw a small ball with a forward arm motion?
Yes and the receiver better be good at ducking!
6. Does your child mark on the paper with the tip of a crayon when trying to draw?
Yes. You should see his coloring skills.
7. Does your child feed himself with a spoon, even though he may spill some food?
Yes except he still, 99% of time, eats only BABY FOOD! I tell ya I'm going to have the only kindergartner still eating baby food!
8.Does your child help undress herself by taking off clothes like socks, hat, shoes, or mittens?
Yes, lol, mittens...WHAT ARE THOSE?
9. Does your child get your attention or try to show you something by pulling on your hand or clothes?
Yes and will accompany it with a very loud screech if you don't respond quickly enough.

Brotherly love

Jayden's teacher asked him today, "What is your favorite toy in your room?".
Jayden's response: "My brother".
(Can you hear the flutter in my heart?)
