St. Patrick's Day 2012

Once again the Leprechaun visited and filled the boy's shoes with gifts.  (St Patrick's day was quite the discussion this year.  Counting down, guessing what he was going to bring, leaving their shoes out.
Since March 17th fell on Saturday this year I made green milk for Ryland's Froot Loops (which ended up being a melt down trigger - who knew?) and green pancakes for Jayden.

Summer Boat...say what?

Someone bought a "summer" boat.
Not to be confused with the "duck" boat or the "project" boat.

Good thing we got that circular driveway.

The whole family has been on the "summer" boat a couple of times already and Hottie has taken it snook fishing a couple of times too! Here's to summertime!

Jayden's School time

Directions: Write about a "monster" you keep under the bed at home.
Jayden is VERY literal...Those are their bunk beds with Ryland sleeping in his bed.
Can you tell Mrs. Digiorgio is allowing the kids to grade their own work?

Ryland's School Time

Ryalnd's mid-year PreK assessment.
Print Knowledge Measure (12 out of 12): measures his ability to recognize the difference between letters and words, and his knowledge of letter names (both upper and lower case) and the sounds they make.

Mathematics Measure (17 out of 18): measures his early numeracy skills across three different areas: counting skills, numerical relation skills, and arithmetic reasoning skills.
Oral Language/Vocabulary Measure (22 out of 23): measures his ability to express himself in words, understand language that is heard, and his knowledge of age appropriate words and their meanings.

This & That Thursday

  • It's Jayden & Ryland's spring break.  Thanks to mom who came down to spend time with them while Hottie and I worked.  The boys love their Mimi!
  • Jayden has been sick with a fever since last Friday.  We took him to the walk in clinic to test for strep and it came back negative.  He's pretty stuffy now but may FINALLY on the mend!
  • After hurting my shoulder last Friday I went to the doctors on Monday (preliminarily diagnosis - torn bicep) and had an MRI on Wednesday.  I should know the extent of my injury this week.
  • Cooper's Upper GI came back normal
  • Some of his bloodwork came back and except for slightly high levels of Calcium they were all normal.  We are still waiting on the food allergy panel.
  • My (and Cooper's) spring break is next week although I guess I have officially started since I don't work any other days this week!
  • I think I can say that we officially have a "crawler" in the house although thankfully he is still pretty content at sitting in one area and playing.
  • Someone bought a summer boat for the {clearing throat} summer.

Update

We got to the hospital around 9:30 and after checking in, waiting and registering they didn't start the upper GI until after 10:30. Cooper did REALLY good especially since he normally eats around 9:30.
He laid on his back on the table while Todd and I held his arms up and I fed him the bottle. Surprisingly he drank over an ounce of that stuff! Two nurses held his legs as the doctor watched the screen. He said that everything looked good.
Next we headed to get the lab work done just down the hall. While they ordered the tests he drank his normal bottle GONE!
When we got in the room the lab technician commented about the amount of tests Cooper needed! I asked how much blood they needed and he said "too much". :( They ended up taking 20 cc! Todd held him down while they took the blood and I sat in the corner plugging my ears! They actually encourage the baby to cry because it increases the blood flow. Once again he did great and almost immediately stopped crying when Todd picked him up.
Around 11:30, we were released and headed to lunch only to be called to be told that they forgot to get a urine sample. So after lunch we headed back to the hospital where I fed him and waited for him to pee.
FINALLY we headed home around 2:00getting home just in time to pick up the big boys, head home for homework, and then off to you guessed it...BASEBALL

Prayer request

Tomorrow at 9:30 Cooper is scheduled for an upper GI and bloodwork to help determine the extent of possible food allergies.

Todd and I will be traveling to St.Mary's Children's hospital in West Palm.

For his upper GI he will need to drink barium from a bottle and therefore "skip a feeding" in order to be really hungry.

IF I'm reading the scrip right, the bloodwork (about 5 cc's worth) will screen his CBC, CMP, ESR, CRP, Total Ig E, food allergy (rice, oats, milk, soy), amino acids, and celiac panel. I have purposely NOT googled some of the above abbreviations because I don't want to add worry where unnecessary!

Please pray for our safe travel, no complications, ease of procedures, least pain for our Cooperson, and strength for Todd and I.

Thanks!
