6 Months old

Sleeping
Cooper is still sleeping from 7:30 pm to 5:30 am (work days, when I have to wake him up) or 6:30 am (school days, when I have to wake him up).   His naps in the morning around 11:00 and in the afternoon around 2:00.  He has almost completely dropped his evening cat nap which means we struggle to keep him up until 7:30!
Eating
We are still giving him Zantac (1.2 ml) twice a day.  He eats 6+ oz at 5:30/6:30, 9:00, 1:00, 5:00, and 7:30.  Rice cereal, actually anything rice has been a total bust!  After the ER visit on Christmas night, I tried it again (less than a teaspoon) in early January and again a couple hours later...vomiting!  The last and final incident was when he had a puff with Ms. Patti and AGAIN, a couple of hours later he vomited.  No more solids, of any kind, until we see the pediatric gastroenterologist.

Play
He is quite the mover!  He rolls around, scooches on his belly, and has even gotten up on his knees (rocky rocky).  He still loves his walker and has started to get coordinated enough to move in his desired direction, aka table cloth, cord hanging down in the bathroom, straps on Ryland's booster seat (you know very appropriate things!)

Other Stuff
  • He is still in size 3 diapers
  • Mostly 6-9 month outfits and a few 12 month things.
  • He's Always looking around, reacting to noises, getting distracted!
  • He drools ALL.THE.TIME and gives zerberts!  It's crazy how soaked his shirts can get in such a short amount of time.
  • For a couple of weeks we thought he was going to be our only thumb sucker but now I'm not so sure.
  • He still has a clogged tear duct in his left eye. I asked the pediatrician if I should be worried and she said not yet...it can take up to a year to correct itself.
  • December to January was a busy month of firsts: First time meeting Grandma, Loretta, & Alan, First Christmas, AND First ER visit!

School Time

Ryland has started writing sentences in PreK.
Ms. Kristine writes the sentence and then they sit (during center time) and copy it.  Ryalnd proudly reads the sentences to us when he gets home and brags that he doesn't need any help with his hand (holding the pen) OR his letters (the teacher writes in yellow highlighter for them to trace if they are having trouble).
They were learning about the letter 'P'.
He was especially proud of his "s's".

Kids Hunt

We're pretty routine around here, so December and January means Saturday duck hunts for Hottie.  Now that the boys are older and have been turkey hunting with Grandaddy; they have been begging to go duck hunting.  So this past weekend they "FINALLY" went!  Hottie got them up at 5:00, we packed them up lots of snacks/extra layers/and DS's you know just in case, and off they headed to Okeechobee! Todd and I joked that this would probably be the "best hunt ever"!  Upon arriving, only one little hiccup... DEAD battery! They were really good sports about the whole thing!
All I got was those two pictures.

A look back

I have this picture of Ry in my office directly in front of my desk.  I look at it every day and I can't believe this was taken 4 1/2 years ago.
And now Cooper is wearing the same shirt!

Family Tree

Shortly after reading Henry and Mudge in the Family trees Jayden said "Hey mom, come quick and take a picture of me and Ry and put it on the blog.  It's our family tree!"

Umm...ok!

This & That Thursday

  • I may or may not still have some Christmas decorations up!
  • And Yes I was still blog posting in 2011 just last week.
  • Jayden has lost both his two front teeth.  The first on Christmas Day and the second a week later.  Sing with me...'All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth'
My only regret?  That I didn't get them done BEFORE making our Christmas cards.  I've already gotten one of them enlarged and put on canvas!
  • Ryland asked the other day "When I get married how will I know your phone number?"
  • Love these hooded towels that mom made the boys!
  • Cooper has found his tongue.  Zerberts and pfffhhhtt galore.  So cute but What.A.Mess!
  • If things come in three's then the Soich Family is DONE with hospitals!  First, Hottie's mom right before Christmas.  Second, Cooper Christmas night due to excessive vomiting of his rice ceral.  Third, Brandon tipped his four wheeler over and was taken to the ER to be checked out.  Everything was ok but scary, scary!
